Research overview

1. Development of Novel Genome Editing Technology
We are dedicated to advancing the field of genome editing by developing innovative technologies. Our team is currently focused on engineering a range of genome editing tools, including Cas9, IscB, TnpB, base editor, and prime editor, to expand the scope and enhance the efficiency of genome editing. Our goal is to create new technologies that can overcome existing limitations in genome editing, ultimately leading to breakthrough discoveries in biology and medicine.

2. Development of gene therapeutics
We are committed to improving human health and extending life by developing therapeutic applications of genome editing. Our current focus is on developing gene therapeutics for inherited retinal diseases and pediatric neurological disorders, with the goal of providing new treatments for patients suffering from these conditions. Additionally, we are working to optimize delivery mechanisms to ensure that our therapies can effectively reach their intended targets.

3. Genome-wide Functional Screening using CRISPR
By perturbing gene expression on a genome-wide scale, we can gain a deeper understanding of gene function and uncover new insights into cellular processes. Our team is dedicated to developing novel techniques to control gene expression and measure the phenotypic changes of cells, ultimately advancing our understanding of biology.

4. Machine Learning-based Analysis of Bio Big Data
We are leveraging the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyze the large amounts of data generated from our genome editing studies. We have developed a high-throughput method to evaluate genome editing efficiency and outcomes, allowing us to analyze Cas9-induced indel frequencies, base editing, and prime editing efficiencies at tens of thousands of target sequences. By training machine learning algorithms on these data, we aim to gain new insights into genome editing and facilitate the use of genome editing tools for precision medicine.
